1.About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website, landing pages, booking system, patient portal, WhatsApp and chat channels, and the in-home and remote health services provided by Bahamas Mobile Medical Solutions ("BMMS", "we", "us" or "our"), a physician-owned mobile medical service based in Nassau, The Bahamas.
By using our website, making a booking, or receiving any BMMS service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cancellation & Refund Policy and our Cookie Notice, which together form the agreement between you and BMMS. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Before any clinical service, you will also be asked to sign a separate consent form for that service. If a signed consent form conflicts with these Terms on a clinical matter, the consent form applies.
2.Eligibility: Adults 18 and Over
Our website and booking system are for adults aged 18 or older. By booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 and that the information you give us is accurate.
We do not accept bookings from anyone under 18.
If a service is ever offered for a minor, it must be booked and consented to by a parent or legal guardian through a separate, direct arrangement with BMMS, and only where BMMS has confirmed that the service and the required safeguards are in place.
We may ask for identification at the visit to confirm age and identity. If age cannot be confirmed, the service will not go ahead at that time (see Section 5).
Booking for another adult
You may book a service for another adult, such as an elderly parent, only if that person (or their legally authorised representative) knows about the booking and agrees to it. The person receiving the service must give their own consent at the visit. Results and health information belong to the person tested. We will share them with you only if that person, or their legally authorised representative, authorises us in writing.
3.What BMMS Provides and What It Does Not
BMMS provides screening, basic health assessment, and non-emergency general-practice services, delivered by registered nurses and reviewed by licensed physicians. Our services include:
Know Your Status: confidential screening for sexually transmitted infections.
Health Check at Home: a nurse home visit with vitals, basic assessment, selected point-of-care tests, and a physician review call.
Specialised mini-screenings: for example PSA, blood type, urinalysis, and brief cognitive or mental health screening questionnaires.
Drug and substance screening: rapid screening tests offered as add-ons.
Prescription refill review: review of eligible existing medications, subject to physician approval.
3.1 Not an emergency service
BMMS does not provide emergency care. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, signs of stroke, thoughts of harming yourself or others, or any other urgent symptom, call 911 or 919 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Do not use our website, WhatsApp, or chat to seek emergency help.
3.2 Screening is not diagnosis
Most of our tests are rapid point-of-care screening tests. A screening result is not a diagnosis. Screening tests can give false-positive and false-negative results, and some infections may not show up if you are tested too soon after exposure (the "window period"). A reactive or abnormal result may need confirmatory laboratory testing, and a non-reactive result does not guarantee that you are free of infection or disease. Our clinical team will explain what your result means and recommend next steps, which may include referral to another provider.
3.3 Drug and substance screening
Our rapid drug, alcohol and nicotine screens are for health and personal information only. They are not forensic, legal-grade, or employment-grade tests, and they must not be used for court, custody, immigration, or employment decisions unless BMMS has expressly agreed in writing to provide a chain-of-custody and confirmatory testing service.
3.4 Mental health and cognitive screening
Brief questionnaires such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, or Mini-Cog are screening tools only and do not diagnose any condition. If your answers suggest a risk to your safety, our clinical team will follow our safety protocol. This may include contacting you promptly, advising urgent care, or referring you to appropriate services.
3.5 Prescription refill review
Refill review is limited to existing, non-controlled medications for conditions that have already been diagnosed and fall within general-practice scope. Refills are issued only at the physician's clinical discretion. We do not prescribe controlled substances, and we may decline a refill request and refer you to your regular doctor or a specialist.
3.6 Clinical judgement
Our physicians and nurses may decline, change, or stop a service if, in their professional judgement, it is not clinically appropriate, safe, or within BMMS's scope. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy for how this affects payment.
4.Our Website and Automated Messaging
Information on our website, social media, and landing pages is general information about our services. It is not medical advice for your situation.
Our WhatsApp and website chat use automated messaging systems to answer common questions about our services, prices and booking, send confirmations, reminders and payment instructions, and pass your conversation to a team member. Automated messages do not provide medical advice, interpret results, or assess symptoms. Questions about your health, results, or medications are handled by our clinical team.
5.Bookings
Bookings are made online through our booking system and are available in New Providence, subject to availability.
We aim to schedule standard appointments within 48 hours of your booking request, subject to nurse availability.
Appointments requested for within 24 hours are priority bookings and carry an additional $50 priority fee. Same-day bookings require full payment before they are confirmed.
Online payment: bookings paid online (deposit or full payment) are confirmed automatically, subject to review by our team.
Bank transfer or cash: the time slot is held for 12 hours pending payment. If payment is not received within 12 hours, the slot is released and the booking is cancelled at no charge.
You must provide an accurate address, a working phone number, and safe access to the visit location.
Please tell us about relevant allergies, conditions, and medications, and answer screening questions honestly. Inaccurate information can affect the safety and accuracy of your service.
5.1 When a visit cannot go ahead
Our nurse may decline to start, or may end, a visit if the environment is unsafe, no adult client is present, or the client's age (18 or over) cannot be confirmed. In that case you may reschedule and arrange a suitable location, or produce valid identification at the rescheduled visit. If you do not reschedule, the booking is treated as a late cancellation under our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6.Prices and Payment
Prices are shown in Bahamian dollars (BSD) on our website and booking system at the time of booking. We may change prices at any time, but a change will not affect a booking that is already confirmed.
VAT: prices are exclusive of VAT. BMMS is not currently registered for VAT and does not charge VAT. If this changes, VAT will be added at the applicable rate and shown on your invoice.
Promotional or early-access discounts are limited-time offers, cannot be combined unless we say so, and have no cash value.
Online payment: you may pay a 50% deposit or the full amount by card through our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number.
Bank transfer or cash: full payment is required within 12 hours of booking unless the BMMS team has approved otherwise in writing. Payment instructions are sent by WhatsApp or email.
Balance due: if you paid a deposit only, the remaining balance must be paid before the service is rendered.
If a clinician recommends and you agree to an extra test or add-on during the visit, it will be charged at the listed price and must be paid before that test is performed.
7.Results and Follow-Up
Results are generally available within 24 to 48 hours through your secure patient portal, after physician review. Tests that need a laboratory may take longer, and we will tell you if that applies.
If a result is reactive, abnormal, or clinically significant, a member of our clinical team will also contact you directly to explain it and advise on confirmatory testing, treatment, or referral. Acting on that advice is your responsibility.
You are responsible for keeping your portal login secure and your contact details up to date. If we cannot reach you after reasonable attempts, we cannot be responsible for delays in follow-up.
Some infections are notifiable under Bahamian public health law. Where the law requires it, we must report certain results to the Ministry of Health or public health authorities. The Privacy Policy has more detail.
8.Your Responsibilities
When using BMMS services you agree to:
give accurate and complete information about your identity, age, health, and contact details;
treat BMMS staff and contractors with respect. We may end a visit and refuse future service if a client or anyone present is abusive, threatening, or behaves inappropriately;
not misuse our website, booking system, patient portal, or chat, for example by making false bookings, attempting to access other people's information, uploading harmful files, or interfering with their operation; and
not use our screening results to mislead others, such as by presenting a screening result as a laboratory or forensic result.
9.Uploading Documents
You may upload recent blood work or other medical records through the patient portal for physician review. Upload only documents that belong to you or that you are authorised to share. Physicians review uploaded documents as part of your booked service and not continuously. Uploading a document does not create an urgent-care relationship.
10.Confidentiality
We treat your health information as confidential, in line with our professional obligations and The Bahamas' data protection law. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.
11.Intellectual Property
All content on our website and social channels, including text, videos, logos, and design, belongs to BMMS or its licensors. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or reuse it commercially without our written permission.
12.Third-Party Services and Links
Our booking, payment, messaging, patient portal, and record-keeping rely on trusted third-party providers, and our website may link to other sites. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites we do not control.
13.Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Bahamian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law:
our website, chat, and general information are provided "as is," and we do not guarantee that they will always be available or error-free;
we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general website or automated-message information instead of professional clinical advice, from inaccurate information you provide, or from your failure to follow clinical advice, attend referrals, or seek emergency care; and
for any claim not relating to clinical care, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid BMMS for the service giving rise to the claim.
BMMS maintains professional indemnity insurance for its clinical services.
14.Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us at info@bmmshealth.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and respond in full within 14 days. Clinical complaints are reviewed by the Medical Director.
15.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a new "last updated" date. Changes apply to bookings made after the update is posted.
16.Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of The Bahamas.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
